Cub-o-ree 2025
On March 21-22, 2025, Troop 8 scouts volunteered to work at the annual spring Cub-o-ree. This event provides cub scouts with the chance to camp with their families and enjoy a day of new experiences. This year, Troop 8 ran the Raingutter Regatta and had fun helping younger scouts (and their parents!) race miniature boats.

Spring 2025 Cub-O-Ree & Troop Campout

Kayaking on Lake Buhlow
On October 23, 2022, Troop 8 went kayaking at Lake Buhlow in Pineville. Scouts spent the previous night at Camp Attakapas to satisfy a requirement for the Camping merit badge. In the morning, they drove back to Pineville for a few hours of kayaking.

Campout at the Southern Forest Heritage Museum
On April 22-23, Troop 8 visited the Southern Forest Heritage Museum (SFHM) in Long Leaf, Louisiana. The SFHM encompasses the old Crowell and Spencer Lumber Company sawmill, which shut down in 1969.
