On Saturday, October 26th, the Louisiana Purchase Council held a 100th Anniversary Celebration at Camp Attakapas. The event featured a breakfast, multiple original Camp Attakapas staff, and an exclusive 100th Anniversary patch. Multiple scouts from Troop 8 attended the event.
The council was formed in 1924 and has served the Central Louisiana area since. After a merger, the council now owns two camps, Camp T.L. James near Downsville and Camp Attakapas near Jena.
