Troop 8 enjoyed another fun and productive winter camp at Camp Attakapas. Camp ran from November 19th to November 23rd.
November 19th
Upon arrival, it was decided that the troop needed to have a commemorative fire.
November 20th
After breakfast, scouts headed back to camp to devise their skit for the closing campfire, an important camp tradition.
They also set up the entrance sign for the troop campsite.
At the end of the day was the opening campfire and flag retirement ceremony.
November 21st
Scouts spent the second day of camp working on merit badges and their troop entrance sign.
November 22nd
On the third full day of camp, the campsite was complete and scouts took a group photo.
Scouts taking the Geocaching merit badge were able to find geocaches at the camp while on a hike!
Some scouts even did a bit of photography.
November 23rd
On the final day of camp, the troop was able to perform the skit they had been working on over the course of the week. Their skit was dubbed “The Retirement of the Invisible Bench.”
Winter Camp 2021 was a lot of fun! Scouts new and old in the troop had a blast working on merit badges, planning their skit, and making campfires. As always, we’ll be back for summer and winter camp next year!
